The Maharashtrian Bride : Due to the reality that the greenish colour is believed to be encouraging and as well a sign of successfulness in the region of Maharashtra, the bride is normally wrapped in a green saree with conventional zari fancywork which includes fine gold or silver ribbons interwoven into cloths. The Paithani is possibly the commonest saree in Maharashtra named after the Paithan neighbourhood in the region where these sarees are made by hand, with the best silk. The paithani comprises of edges of a nonparallel square pattern, and a pallu with a peacock pattern. Likewise the Nauvari saree which is a saree that is nine-yards in length iscommon in this region also. Whilst the Nauvari flair started in the epoch of the Maratha Empire, where women staked into the fields of battle in critical times of warfare, the Nauvari saree is a popular form of trousseau in Maharashtra until now. Normally the jewellery includes gold decorates with beads. The bride as well wears the famous nath which is a type of a nose ring.
